When 2019 was on the horizon the Lord brought me to Isaiah 61. I quickly found myself obsessed with this chapter. As a matter of fact, I haven’t left it since. Almost on a daily basis I’m like a mad-man digging for buried treasure! As I carefully read and reread each word, peeling away it’s familiarities, I find myself only drawing closer to the passion-filled heart of our Father! One verse I find myself rehearsing in mind throughout the day declares, “And they shall REBUILD the ancient ruins, they shall RAISE UP the former desolations and RENEW the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.”
This is the picture, the holy assignment that we as His church are called to run towards and fully embrace. The redemption the Lord brings TO US, He also intends to bring THROUGH US!
You see, every lost soul is like a city that is broken down, and has no walls, like a house in ruins; but by the power of Christ, it is fitted to be a habitation of God, through the Spirit. This is my story. This is your story. Now, by the grace of God our hands are employed to REBUILD, RAISE UP, and RENEW!
