When you leave this earth…what mark do you want to leave on this earth?

Do you want to be the best parent, boss, friend, Christian, employee?

I always say, “I hope there are people at my funeral, and I hope they are teary eyed”. Why? Because I want to know I made a difference in peoples’ lives.

Matt 20:26-28

It must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave; just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life—a ransom for many.”

Who can you think of that exemplified this kind of serving?

EX:  Mother Teresa

One of the beauties of servanthood is that it requires no special talent or special gifts. Of course, we are to use our spiritual gifts to serve one another. And if God has given us certain natural abilities, we also want to be good stewards of those abilities to serve others in the Body. But it requires no spiritual gift or talent to wash feet, clean shoes, or gather firewood. All that is required is a servant’s attitude.

How to serve in the end days

…Three helpful essentials to have…

Joy

Joy is a state of being, and it differs from happiness, which may come and go. Happiness is usually measured by our circumstances, whereas joy is measured by what we have been given. As Christians, we have been given something that cannot be taken away. We have joy because of the grace of Jesus Christ that lives in us. We can hold onto joy, we can feel joyful, and we can rejoice with praise no matter what our circumstances may be because no matter what is going on in our lives God is always near. In the English Standard Version of the Bible, the words “joy,” “rejoice,” or “joyful” appear a total of 430 times, compared with “happy” or “happiness,” which appear only ten times.”

Proverbs 10:28 “The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.”

Live a righteous life {doing what is right} will bring joy. Joy will attract those who need it in their life.

Love

Do you think it’s a part of our human nature to want to do things for others? You can not serve God without loving people. Love was the whole motivation for Father God sending his son to earth to serve.

John 15:13

ESV …Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

1 John 4:7

ESV …Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. The world would change if people cared more about others then themselves.

What can you do to love people?

Faithfulness

Faithful servants never retire. You can retire from your career, but you will never retire from serving God. The peak of fulfillment I could ever experience for my spirit and soul

is to hear from the Lord, “Well done my good and faithful servant”. If you are faithful, you

will have that honor that comes from God: his Spirit will say in your hearts, Well done, good and faithful servants.

1 Cor. 4:2

“Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful”

Luke 16:12

“And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?” So back to…When you leave this earth, what do you want people to say about you?

I conclude I would love them to say she was one of the greatest servants.

Challenge this week: Think of one way you can serve people by using your gifts and talents.  Do It! Don’t wait….Live like Jesus is coming back today!
