If you’re tuned into Washington, you know that our nation is in a legal battle. Much is at stake right now for our country. We’re living in one of those moments to be recorded in history books for future generations. No matter what side you stand on, this can be said in regards to legal matters. Until you are free from legal opposition your fight to advance will be much more difficult, if not impossible.
As the church we are called to advance the Kingdom of God. We have been given the charge to take the land and the enemy knows it. One of the methods used in delaying a charge is to tie it up in court with the means of a curse, so the advancement comes to a screeching halt. Instead of looking onward, your energies are directed elsewhere.
Curses can be that legal opposition that makes the advancement of your God destiny a greater fight than it should be. I know when I first started thinking on these matters my mind took me back to childhood cartoons or movies of witches riding their brooms or popping out of a bottle. Yeah I know, that’s going way back in time! I had to deal with the fictional pictures in my mind and see what was the true biblical picture in order to deal with the matter at hand.
Here was fact #1 – “You saw who you created me to be before I became me! Before I’d seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book.” Psalms 139:16 PT
Fact #2 – “For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, they are to prosper you and not to harm you.” Jeremiah 29:11
Fact #3 – “A thief has only one thing in mind – he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect- life in its fullness until you overflow! John 10:10
Fact #4- “An undeserved curse will be powerless to harm you. It may flutter over you like a bird, but it find no place to land.” Proverbs 26:3 PT
So it was made clear to me. His plans for you and me are good, but the plans of the enemy is to steal from us and one of those ways he steals is with curses that have legal ground.
The key to dealing with curses that resist and work against us is to remove their legal rights. EVERYTHING is legal in the spirit realm! Which means ,curses can ONLY operate from a legal position which we just read in Proverbs. To remove a curse you must identify its legal right to remain. This is not a warfare issue, it’s a legal issue so our approach must be different. It’s not just about praying longer, louder, or with greater passion. It’s in humility and with the help of Holy Spirit that we begin to ask the hard questions. It’s declaring, search me Lord and allow nothing to remain hidden that I may repent and turn completely from it!

- What is one area you believe Holy Spirit is wanting you to target in your life with His help right now.
