As a little girl I had this secret hide out in the neighborhood. Only a few knew where it was, and we swore to keep it that way. It was the place where our imaginations would soar to new heights. Trees were mountains to be conquered. Mud was no longer just wet dirt, but it was the main ingredient for all the dishes we would cook up. We would bury treasure in this secret place knowing it would never be discovered. Hours seemed to disappear as we were hidden away in our own little world. I often think back at those moments that I cherish so much and correlate this with a truth that I later discovered.

As believers we’ve been invited into the secret chambers of the throne room of grace (Hebrews 4:16). The world doesn’t have access to it, nor do they know it even exists. It lays hidden behind the veil and disillusionment of the world. It’s in this place where the secrets of the kingdom are revealed and you are overshadowed by His presence. It’s the secret place of Psalms 91, that we are called to dwell.

In Christ Jesus we are made secure because He ascended over the powers of this age, and the hidden principalities of darkness, making a safe passage for us to come through the BAPTISM INTO HIS DEATH. (Romans 6:3)

GOD’S IDEA

Baptism started with John the Baptist at the beginning of the gospels. The scripture says he came to “baptize with water for repentance.” It continued in the ministry of Jesus. John 4:1 says, “Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John. And Baptism continued as a practice by the church because of the command of the Lord (Matthew 28:19).

THE INVITATION

The invitation is one of obedience, however it’s call is not merely a religious obligation. Rather, God calls us today to bury the old man, and rise now hidden in Christ. It’s invitation is of utmost honor. He chooses you!!

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4
