The Israelites were called out of Egypt – out of slavery – and into a journey that would bring them to the very land that God had promised to Abraham 400 years earlier, because it was their appointed time.

Well, guess what – Today is your appointed time. God has called you OUT of Egypt – out of slavery to sin – and has supernaturally kept you during times of hardship and wondering through the wilderness in order to take you IN to His promise – to declare war on your enemy and possess the land of your promise.

Now, the promised land that we experience as Christians is not only the promise of heaven. Nor is our purpose to merely eat of the free manna and soak in the light and the warmth of the fire of God.

Surely, heaven is a promise, and the manna and fire of God are wonderful things – but there is also a promise here on earth of victory over the enemy – for your family, your school, your livelihood, your friends and your neighbors – and now is the time to press in and experience victory over our enemy – bringing you to the fulfillment of those promises.

This victory will happen through Jesus and His warrior saints. You are his army. You are His anointed ones. God is calling you to take your rank and rise in this hour.

When I realized this for myself, the question that I asked was, “How do I make it happen?” I knew and saw who I should be and what I should be doing, but I felt as though I was paralyzed – unable to move forward.

If you find yourself asking this same question, I understand, and here is the answer: We must allow the Word of God to give us the direction, no longer letting our emotion direct our path. “So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control… Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires…” 1 Peter 1:13-14

In the book of 2 Kings, King Naaman was asked to be obedient by dipping in the Jordan River seven times so that he would be healed. (2 Kings 5:10)

He didn’t understand. It didn’t make sense and he felt humiliated – this was not the answer he was looking for. He complained at first, but thankfully decided to follow the instructions of the Lord, and he reaped the full reward of his obedience.

In order to move forward, God will give you instructions through his Word and time spent with Him in prayer. In order to move from where you are to where you know God is calling you, it will require you to humble yourself and obey. Even your feelings could very possibly war against you.

It may be scary, or make you extremely nervous. But remember, GOD IS LEADING YOU ONCE AGAIN TOWARD FAITH!

PRAYER/QUESTIONS:

  1. Have you ever felt “stuck” in your walk with God? Would you say that you feel that way currently?
  2. Has God placed a God-sized dream in your heart that you can’t shake?
  3. Have you put off obeying God in any area because of fear?

I encourage all of you to meditate on these things, obey the Lord as He instructs you, and expect GREAT THINGS in 2019.
